Adam Smith

Adam Smith is the Founder and Principal Broker of Alfa Mortgages and Alfa Specialist Finance, an award-winning mortgage and finance group advising clients across the UK.

With 16 years in financial services, Adam has extensive experience across residential mortgages, complex lending and specialist finance. He works with individuals, professionals, business owners, property investors and developers, helping clients secure the right finance for their circumstances and objectives.

Adam takes a highly personal approach to every case, taking the time to understand the bigger picture before identifying the most appropriate funding options. His experience is particularly valuable when circumstances are more complex or don’t fit neatly within traditional lending criteria.

Under Adam’s leadership, Alfa Mortgages has built a strong reputation for expert advice, personal service and finding solutions for challenging cases, and was named Best Mortgage Broker at the 2025 Finance Awards. Adam has also been shortlisted for two 2026 NACFB awards: Rising Star of the Year and Bridging Finance Broker of the Year (1–3 Brokers).

Richard Poole

With over 30 years’ experience in financial services, Richard has developed a wealth of knowledge across mortgages, protection and financial advice. This extensive experience has given him a strong understanding of the mortgage market and, importantly, the different challenges and circumstances clients can face.

Richard is experienced in dealing with a wide range of mortgage requirements, including self-employed applicants, complex income and cases that may not fit straightforward lending criteria. He takes the time to understand each client’s individual circumstances before providing clear, practical advice and identifying suitable options.

His approach is personal and straightforward, with a focus on making the mortgage process as simple and stress-free as possible. Richard’s depth of experience allows him to look beyond the obvious and provide clients with confidence that their circumstances have been properly understood and considered.
